Ever had an idea that you thought was great but then when you looked at it again, you thought it was…well…stupid?

I have struggled with this for years and now I’ve finally come to a conclusion about “stupid” ideas that I think you should know.

First off, I don’t like the word “stupid”. I don’t like using it to describe anything whether that is a person or a place because I believe that it’s a harmful word. I mean imagine someone calling you stupid, that would be somewhat hurtful right?

Well that is what happens when you call your ideas stupid – you are calling yourself stupid.

Here is the thing about ideas or goals: every single one of them matter. Whenever you have an idea it’s always best to acknowledge it and see where it leads you. Now I’m not talking about the ideas that will cause harm to you (or to others) like walking down a dangerous alley way in the middle of the night. That’s a no go!

I’m talking about the ideas you have for your artwork, your career and your future. Sometimes we think of ideas and goals like showcasing in a gallery, or creating a book or even opening up our own stop. Things that we would want to accomplish but because we lack confidence in ourselves, we think it’s stupid and that it’ll never happen.

And when we give up on ourselves, we accomplish nothing!

It’s like when we say the things that we dream about to others out loud, we follow it up with “I know that’s so stupid right?“. We’ve all been guilty of that! But your ideas and goals are not stupid – they are things that you want. So just go for it and see if it works out! And in the end if for whatever reason it doesn’t go the way you thought it would, you gave it a chance and know what to do the next time around.

Now it’s your time to shine!

Make a list of all the things you want to accomplish and read them aloud to yourself. What ideas or goals have you made that you thought were “stupid”? How can you change you attitude and go for them? Let me know in the comments below!

And if you like today’s story, please don’t forget to share it with your friends, help them achieve their goals !

Til next time – keep creating,
