Kimberly Patino (aka K.Patino) is an American-born artist living in Queens, New York. K.Patino has an Associates Degree in Arts from LaGuardia Community College and is in the process of obtaining her Bachelors Degree in Arts at Hunter College.
As a child, Kimberly was always fascinated and inspired by art. From elementary through middle school, her sketches and paintings received awards and certificates from teachers and principals. However while she was being recognized for her talent, her family informed her that although they were supportive of her talent she was not allowed to pursue a career in the arts because it is “not considered as a career” in their eyes. Negating the demands of her family, she continued pursing her art and was excepted to the High School of Graphic Communication Arts where she studied photography for four years. After graduation, Kimberly pondered about joining the United States Marines Corp. after the attack on the World Trade Center. But because she was still indecisive about the decision, Kimberly left New York and traveled to Colombia for three months where she stayed with Gloria Arbelaez, a Colombian painter. When she returned to the States, Kimberly attended LaGuardia Community College and completed her Associates Degree in the Arts. She is now attending Hunter College studying for her Bachelors Degree and is currently an art editor at the college art & literary magazine The Olivetree Review.
When she is not attending school or editing at the magazine, Kimberly expands on her art more and more. Recently, K.Patino has taken pictures of exhibition events for artists, head shots for up-coming actors along with contemporary work. She is also a writer, painter and sketch artist.
